The National Gallery of Indonesia has the task of implementing the collecting, documenting, registration, research, preservation, conservation, protection, and presentation of artworks, as well as disseminating information on art and providing educative guidance on art.
In the process of carrying out these duties, the National Gallery of Indonesia implements these functions:
• Collects and registers works of art
• Presents lectures, meet-the-artist forums, informal discussions and workshops
• Carries out research and educative guidance, as well as holding exhibitions and disseminating information about art
• Documents, preserves, conserves, and protects works of art • Implements the general management and housekeeping duties necessary to running the National Gallery of Indonesia.
